My Approach

In our first session, I will take the time to understand your specific needs. I’ll explain how I believe I can help you, and together, we’ll decide on an approach that suits you best.

You can use the therapy space in various ways, including:

  • Learning coping strategies to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotions.

  • Acquiring practical skills to tackle day-to-day problems.

  • Talking through what’s going on in your life.

  • Making sense of why you think, feel, and behave the way you do.

  • Beginning to change long-term thought and behavior patterns.

It’s entirely up to you whether you want to focus on one area or utilise this space for a mixture of the above.

Every decision is guided by what you want or need. I understand that everyone has different preferences, so we can either go with the flow in each session or follow a more structured plan.

Areas of Expertise

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on building skills to help you regulate emotions effectively. If impulsive behaviors or intense emotions are impacting your goals or relationships, DBT may be a helpful approach. The "dialectical" part of DBT teaches you to find a balanced, middle ground in your thinking, especially if you often view things in “all-or-nothing” or “black-and-white” terms. It’s about embracing the “and” instead of the “or” to create more flexibility and stability in your life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on understanding how your behaviors and emotions are shaped by your thoughts and underlying beliefs. Together, we’ll work on identifying and changing thought patterns that may no longer serve you. By shifting these thought processes, you’ll be empowered to make meaningful changes in your behaviors, moving steadily toward the life you envision!

Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy helps you uncover deep-rooted patterns of thinking and behavior that often develop from early life experiences and significant moments. These patterns, known as "schemas," can affect your life in unhelpful ways. Together, we’ll explore these schemas and work on tailored strategies to help you create meaningful change and move toward a more fulfilling life.
