About Me
My name is Prachi Savani
I'm a South Asian therapist, born in Kenya, with life experiences in the UK and now Australia. I understand the challenges many face in balancing cultural expectations with personal needs, aspirations, and dreams. I have had 7 years of experience in supporting people navigate their mental health in private hospitals, government-funded clinics, and private practices.
I believe therapy is not just about addressing symptoms; it’s about understanding your story and the context of your experiences. Together, we will embark on a journey to explore your narrative, empowering you to find clarity and direction. I am committed to meeting you at your pace, ensuring that our work feels meaningful and manageable.
Outside of my practice, I work at a digital mental health clinic supervising therapists as they support clients with various mental health challenges and at a DBT psychology clinic in a comprehensive 14 month program for emotional dysregulation.
When I am not working, I am dancing, watching netflix or playing board games. I love a chocolatey coffee - but only before 12pm!

My Experience
-
I bring over five years of experience working in a private psychiatric hospital, where I supported individuals navigating acute depression and anxiety. During this time, I facilitated group therapy programs, provided one-on-one therapy, and supervised students in their clinical practice.
-
I currently work within a comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program, originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980s in the USA. I have completed intensive training with Dr. Linehan’s team and have had the privilege of working alongside, and learning from, pioneers of DBT in Australia/New Zealand.
-
Throughout my career, I have supported more than 100 clients in better understanding their mental health, building insight, and making meaningful changes to improve their wellbeing.
